Hello, This month Rush Central is partying - because we're celebrating our first birthday! On 1st June 2007 Creative Rush launched its creativity, energy and professionalism onto an unsuspecting world - and since then we’ve helped nearly 50 companies make their marketing better. Whether it's been developing a new brand, repositioning an existing one or boosting their advertising, Creative Rush has made a lot of people happy, - but don't take our word for it, read for yourself. To help celebrate, this issue of Rush is giving our pick of the best adverts from the past year, many of which have featured in past Rush issues. And as there have been quite a few good adverts recently, we’ve got a bumper crop to finish with, so keep reading to the end. Here's to many more years of feeling the Rush. The Editor Editor@creativerush.co.uk PS› Rush is a condensed hit of marketing-related-internet-news. If you didn't get this direct from Creative Rush then send an email to subscribe@creativerush.co.uk with your full name, address and email to get it direct next time. ![]() Once upon a time... ...people advertised their wares by standing on a street corner and shouting at anyone who passed by. Over time shouting turned into posters; posters developed into radio jingles; and radio adverts turned into highly choreographed TV spots - broadcasting direct into the nation's homes. But that's not the end of the story - in the late twentieth century the World Wide Web opened up a whole new media for advertising, this time with the largest potential audience yet. And just as video stands accused of killing the radio star, on-line advertising is coming under attack. The UK online marketing spend is growing by 30% a year - currently standing at £3billion - and is set to overtake total spending in the TV sector in 2009, while in the US online advertising spend has already topped radio advertising by more than $1billion . What does this mean for you?

Stop and think There are lots of issues adverts out there. This interesting stop animation caught our eye. Was it worth it? Honda - who are pretty well known for outstanding brand building - have taken their adverts to another level. Building on this teaser spot, on May 28th they aired a live parachute jump advert. What will they think of next? Teaser or trailer? The teaser spot for this advert was more like a movie trailer - but the punchline was worth the wait. A Visual Thrill This animation for the Zurich Chamber Orchestra gets our thumbs up. International Rescue Drench Spring Water - an advert guaranteed to make you smile. Car Confidence Doesn't make us want to buy a Polo - but we do want to find a singing dog. Phil's choice unfortunately doesn't exist yet... but he's putting his name on the waiting list for as soon as it is. He seems to think this would be better than an iPhone...! Plane Giveaway It's not our recommended method of promotion, but stranger ploys have been known to work. Robbers in thongs, nuff said The traditional disguise is a pair of stockings, but I guess they thought any ladies' underwear would do... OAP ID Some would take it as a compliment. Good, bad or indifferent? Seen a story to suggest? Email: Editor@creativerush.co.uk Got Rush? Forward it to your friends! |
